OPPRESSIVE HEAT DANGER FROM GRASS FIRES. ("Times-Age" Special.) The oppressive heat experienced during the last two weeks, has had a very drying effect on the grass, and there is the greatest danger of fires. J Watson, who volunteer-! ed at the outbreak of th<* war for thei Forestry Corps, had been called t- i camp, .Mrs Watson had to curtail heri visit to Auckland and returned home today. Word has been received Mr Mm 1! Lawson that her m-ice Miss K Lticena who was the victim of a motor accident j during the holidays is progressing fav-l curably towards recovery. Mrs Frank Cassidy who was for some time an inmate of the Greytown Hospital, has had to enter the Masterton Hospital for further treatment.
