Hodder, J.P., in dismissing in the Masterton Magistrate’s Court this morning a charge against George O'Sullivan, labourer, aged 60. of Albert Street, Masterton of having assaulted John Cleaver, aged 77. also of Masterton in Queen Street, last night. On a charge of having been drunk ! in Queen Street. Cleaver was convicted i and discharged. The facts of the case were outlined briefly by Senior-Sergeant G. A. DogEvidence was given by Mr. H, Lethnby. Queen Street, that he saw O'Sullivan "rushing around Cleaver like a Dervish,” outside the Regent Theatre at 10 minutes to seven last night, when a tight took place, A youth. J Millward, stated that Cleaver approached O’Sullivan saying I’ve a pair of German fists you’d like to taste.” O’Sullivan pushed Cleaver 15 io 20 feet where he fell on the roadside Lengthy cross-examination of witnesses followed and the Bench dismissed the charge.
