MOTOR CARS COLLIDE
FIVE PERSONS INJURED. ACCIDENT NEAR UPPER HUTT. *Bn T<-h»i»raph-~~Prcs.«; Association J WELLINGTON. ThL Day Five persons were injured shortly before 8 p.m. on Saturday when a light car and a coupe collided al the intersection of Gibbons Road with the main highway near Upper Hutt. They were: Mr. J. Cox. clerk. 29 Home Street, Wellington, fractured right arm. Mrs. V. Haylock. 16 Herald Street. Wellington, severe scalp wounds anti shock. Mr. G. Fttzmaurice. carpenter, 33 Home Street, injury to left arm. Jack Fitzmauriee. aged 11, 33 Home Street, fractured right arm and shock. Mr. Matthew Bonner. 2!) Home Street, injury to shoulders. It appears that Mr. D. A. Haylock Berhampore. with his wife and his brother. Mr. Charles Hay lock, was driving a light ear south along the main read near Upper Hutt, intending to turn into Gibbons Road. The other car. driven by Mr. Bonner, was travelling in the same direction. .Mr. Bonner's ear. which contained four other passengers, ran through a fence after the accident and Mr. Haylock's car came to rest against a power pole. Both vehicles were extensively damaged. The Free Ambulance took the injured persons to hospital.
