-MY FAVOURITE WIFE.” ‘ The brilliant comedy drama "My I Favourite Wife" will be finally .shown ■ tonight. "KIT CARSON." I A stirring chapter out of the making j of the western portion of the United I States is unfolded in the Edward • Small production. "Kit Carson.” which j will be shown tomorrow night. This , production, an epic of frontier life and bravery, concerns the adventures of Kit Carson, the famous Indian fighter, in the days when America was young. The film features Jon Hall in the title role, with Lynn Bari. Dana ! Andrews. Ward Bond, Harold Huber. Clayton Moore and Rowena Cook. The story opens on a note of excitement I when Jon Hall, as Kit Carson, toj gether with Harold Huber and Ward Bond as his companions Ape and J Lopez arc attacked by a band of i marauding Indians. The friends j manage to escape, and return to Fort Bridger, where they are met by Geni oral Fremont, played by Dana j Andrews. Fremont tells Carson that 1 he is the only man who could possibly i guide his party through the dangerous I Indian country to the promised land I of California. Carson refuses, because I of the danger to the women and children in the party, but his mind is changed when he meets Dolores Murphy, one of the group, played by the beautiful and talented Lynn Bari. Fremont and Kit Carson do not get along well, since the former is also fond of Dolores, but the two men try to bury their ,differences in the face of the common danger. In addition to Indians, the expedition is plagued by the villainous attacks of Castro, the crafty military governor in Monterey, California. The adventures with redskins and the forces of the treacherous Castro encountered en route to California, furnish the vividly thrilling action of the story. The warm human interest of the rivalry over ■ Dolores adds a compelling touch to I the exciting adventures of the courageous band of pioneers.
