WAIRARAPA TOURNAMENT CONCLUDED YESTERDAY. CLOSELY CONTESTED GAMES. (Notes by "The Bowler." > /it the conclusion of the two days play in the Wairarapa Bowling Tournament, the teams left to decide the winner were Burden. Connolly. Demies. Higgison <s) (Gieytown). Hughan, Underhill Tucker. G. Hatt (s) ‘Carterton,'. and J. V. Gordon. Norihey, Stewart, and J. Hunter <s) * Masterton). Higgison drew the bye and Hunter and Hart had to play oil' to decide who was to meet Higgison. The games were played yesterday afternoon on the Masterton Clubs green in perfect weather. Ihe gieens were fast and in first class condition and I am sure that the large number of spectators present had not seen better bowling than that in a semi-final and final given by the three teams. HART v HUNTER. This game provided a most interesting and exciting finish, the mm gin being only one point. On the 18th head the scores were Hunter 19. Hart 16. On the next head Hunter laid 5. but Hart, with his last bowl, drew the shot. The 20th head saw the scores equal. 19 all. and on the last head Hart's team secured a well earn- 1 ed victory, by one point. HART v HIGGISON. This contest also provided a most interesting finish, the margin again being onlv one point. On the 11th head the scores were Higgison 8, Hart 7 and on the 17th head the margin was still on<‘ point m favour of Higgison. the board showing Higgison 14 Hart 13. The next head saw the scores equal. 14 all. Higgison had a lead of one point on the 20th head. Higgison 17. Hart 16.
