NEV/ ZEALAND CHAMPIONSHIP. MEETING AT NAPIER. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) NAPIER. December 29. Keen greyhound racing was witnessed in Napier when the first New Zealand championship meeting sponsored by the Northern Hawke’s Bay Greyhound Association under the authority of the New Zealand Coursing Association was held. The New Zealand Cup was won by White Tracer for Miss A. Perry in Sllsecs.. while the New Zealand championship hurdles was won by Silver Briar, which belongs to Mrs. U. Seal, in 26Jsecs. Following were the results: — Maiden Stake.—First division (440 yards): Fast Passage, 1; Our Laddie. 2. Time. 24 2-5. Second division: Miss Pariel, 1; The Black Moth. 2. Time. 23 4-5. Final: Fast Passage, 1; The Black Moth. 2; Miss Pariel, 3. Time. 24. The winner receives Messrs. Lockyer’s trophy. New Zealand Championship Flat (440 yards).—White Trace, 1; Bon Ton, 2; Social Gift. 3. Time, 23 2-5. The winner receives J. Woodhill’s trophy.
Limit ’Stakes. —First division (550 yards): Irish Mist, 1; Dorado Pride, 2. Time. 33. Second division: Flood Tide. 1; Star Ranger, 2. Time. 32. Final: Flood Tide, l;Star Ranger, 2; Dorado Pride, 3. Time, 32 2-5. The winner receives A. Long's trophy. Junior Class (440 yards).—Busy Bee 1; Royal Chance and Gary Boy, 2 equal. Time, 241. The winner receives Mr. H. Kidson’s trophy.
