WOMEN’S DIVISION
RANGITUMAU BRANCH. MONTHLY MEETING OF MEMBERS. (“Times-Age” Special.) The members of the Rangitumau branch of the Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union held their monthly meeting in the Rangitumau Hall recently. The president, Mrs James, presided over a fair attendance of members. On behalf of the members, Mrs T. D. McLachlan, presented Mrs James with a bouquet and a box of chocolates in appreciation of her services. A good collection of books, which are to be forwarded to a military camp library, were handed in. A sale of attractive looking articles made during the year was held. It was decided to send a pair of blankets to the Duchess of Northumberland Fund. The hostesses were Mesdames T. D. k McLachlan and N. H. McLachlan. ~ Competitions resulted as follows: — Gems, Miss Harvey, 1; Mrs Duckett, 2. Decorated bowl, Mrs Stuart, 1; Miss McLachlan, 2. One bloom, Miss Harvey, 1; Mrs MacDonald, 2. Three blooms,’Mrs Duckett, 1; Mrs MacDonald. 2. No meeting will be held in January. For the February meeting, members are asked to take some woollen garment, not necessarily new, suitable for adults.
