DE VALERA’S OPERATION
TOTAL BLINDNESS PREVENTED. GOOD RECOVERY REPORTED. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) (Received This Day, 9.0 a.m.) DUBLIN. December 27. Mr de Valera's operation bn December 18 was undertaken in order to prevent total blindness and enabled him to read a broadcast to the United States on December 26. whereas when he entered the nursing home he was able to haltingly read only large type printing.
