LULL IN RAIDING

FEW GERMAN AIRCRAFT OVER BRITAIN SINGLE PLANES ATTACKS ISLE OF SHEPPEY. LITTLE DAMAGE AND NO CASUALTIES. Aii Air Ministry communique transmitted by the 8.8. C. states that yesterday afternoon a single German plane dropped bombs on the Isle of Sheppey, near the mouth of the Thames. Little damage was done and there were no casualties.

This raid, and slight enemy activity at the Orkneys on Wednesday which cost the Germans one plane are all that Britain has seen of enemy aircraft since Monday last.

DAYS OF QUIET

EXCEPTION NEAR ORKNEYS. NAZI PLANE SHOT DOWN. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) LONDON, December 26. This morning's Air Ministry communique states “There is nothing to report since our last communique.” The communique referred to was that issued last night, which announced: “There was some slight activity during today (Christmas Day) over the Orkney Islands and off the Scottish coast. An enemy plane was shot down near the Orkneys.” Apart from that activity there were no operations over either Britain or Western Europe.

Londoners have not heard the airraid sirens since three nights ago.
