At the Auckland Racing Club’s meeting yesterday Beau Vite, finishing with an irresistable runfat the end of the two-mile journey, had a decisive win in the Auckland Cup race. Another good performer in Old Bill was second. Bronwen repeated her 'success of last year in the Railway Handicap, and Route March narrowly wonjthe Great Northern Foal Stakes from'the Trentham filly, Pay Roll, formerly trained at Opaki. The chief event at the Manawatu meeting was won by Dynasty. The Masterton horses Counter, Cheerful Lady and White Rajah all won races. The Taranaki Jockey (Club’s meeting saw Friesland win the‘principal race, while Trig Station won the sprint. The Otago Handicap at’the IDunedin Jockey Club's meeting was won by Straightdel, while Doria beat Spanish Lad in the Federal Handicap. The Amalgamation Hack Cup at ‘Waipukurau went to Native Chief and the Flying Handicap to The Ring.

The Auckland Racing Club’s summer meeting opened in fine weather at Ellerslie today. The track was in splendid condition and the attendance was 40,000, against 39,000 last year. The totalisator handled £143.004, against £131,054 last year, an increase of £11.950. It was the next best year to 1920-21, when the total was £154,000. Results:—
