QUIET CHRISTMAS IN COUNTRY. A BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION.' (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, December 24. As a brief respite from their almost incessant round of duty, their Majesties will spend Christmas quietly in the country with the Princesses, and the usual Yuletide festivities at Sandringham have been cancelled. It is the first time in 30 years that the Royal Family t is not spending Christmas at Sandring- -A ham.
The Royal Family will be joined during Christmas Day by the Duke and Duchess of Kent with their children, Prince Edward and Princess Alexandra, whose fourth birthday it will be. There will be a family tea party and a Christmas tree. During the holiday a Nativity play will be performed in which the Princesses Elizabeth and Margaret and children in the neighbourhood will take part.
