LAVAL’S PROSPECTS

NO QUESTION OF RETURN TO CABINET ACCORDING TO VICHY SPOKESMAN. NAZI AIR RECRUITING POSTERS TORN DOWN. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) LONDON, December 23. The Vichy correspondent of the Associated Press of Great Britain says an official spokesman stated that there is no question of M. Laval returning to the Cabinet nor of an immediate reconstruction of the Cabinet. The Free French news agency declares that posters signed “Commandant Constantine” recently appeared on the walls of Paris inviting airmen to volunteer for service in the Luftwaffe. All were torn down on the same night, and new posters soon reappeared, threatening reprisals. Within two hours young Frenchmen by daylight and under the eyes of German police ripped them down again.
