RIFLE SHOOTING
MASTERTON=OPAKI CLUB FIRST TROPHY COMPETITION. DIFFICULT CONDITIONS. Following on the club's decision to hold a modified shooting season to keep members together the first trophy shoot of the season was held on Fairview Range on Saturday. Rain and changing light made shooting difficult, and in the circumstances the performances of D. P. Donald and H. King were very good. Possibles were scored by J. Bouzaid and D. P. Donald, who carried on to score twelve consecutive bulls. The following is the result of the competition (three seven-shot shoots at 500 yards):—
J. E. MeV. Calwell 27 30 retired 57 The ranges next Saturday will be one over 500 yards and two over 600 yards.
