“THE NATIVITY OF CHRIST”

ST MATTHEW’S CHOIR PRESENTS CANTATA. The cantata “The Nativity of Christ” was presented by St Matthew s Church choir last night before a well filled church. Under the conductorship of Mr. William C. Mann, and with Mr. Miller Hope at the organ, the choir gave a particularly fine rendering of this cantata, which had not been heard in Masterton for some years. The soloists were Mesdames Burton and Moss, Misses M. Fulton and A. Winhall and Messrs. G. V. Greer, Seymour Gilding, A. Hale and F. Thornton. The vicar, the Ven. Archdeacon E. J. Rich, thanked the choir for its inspiring lead, stating that the keynote of the cantata was one of triumph, which was most appropriate for the Christmas such as they were having.
