ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATIONS. COMMISSIONER EVAN SMITH PRESENT. Whatman Home celebrated its fifteenth anniversary on Saturday, when a tea was held in honour of the occasion. Commissioner Evan Smith, leader of the Salvation Army in New Zealand, and Mrs Smith, were present. Yesterday morning the Commissionei’ held a meeting with the children at the home and in the afternoon the anniversary programme was presented by the children, before a large attendance of visitors. An evangelical service was held at the Salvation Army Citadel last evening, the gatherings throughout the weekend being most successful.
