Little Robin Wins at Otaki
TE AWAMUTU CUP TO GREEK QUEEN KNIGHT COMMANDER SCORES AT HORORATA (BY “THE GRAFTER.’’) At the Otaki Racing .Club’s meeting on Saturday the principal flat double went to local ihorses, Little Robin beating his three opponents :n the Rere Nikitini Memorial jStakes, and Sir Crusoe winning the sprint. Favourites had a fair run,, but there were two surprises, by Prin,ihia in the hurdles and by Red Dash in the maiden event. At the Waipa Racing Club’s meeting on Saturday the Te Awamutu Cup was won by Greek Queen, the Hack Cup by Joan Peel and the Flying Handicap by Lady Tinkle. The principal event at the Hororata meeting, the H, A. Knight Memorial Handicap, was won well by Knight Commander, who showed a return to his last year’s form. Skyrena finished fast to cut the veteran Waitaka 'out of second money, with the disappointing Glenora Boy a .fair fourth. Th,e race was marred by an unfortunate ■ mishap to Lockit who, when going well about half a mile from home, broke a fetlock and had to be destroyed. Synthetic accounted for the sprint.
