PATRIOTIC FUND
MILLION POUNDS APPEAL. ORGANISER’S REPORT. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. The Dominion organiser, Major Abel, of the million pounds all purposes patriotic appeal, reports an increase of £20,000 since the end of last week, bringing the total in hand to £387,440. Auckland has contributed £103,000, Canterbury £72,000, Otago £61,000 Wellington £55,340, Hawke’s Bay £35.000. the East Coast. £23.000. Southland £14,000. Nelson £9.100. Taranaki £6300, Westland £4700 and Marlboi> ough £3500. Wellington’s Queen Carnival will open early in February and finish with an Easter carnival. The coronation will take place late in May.
