MASTERTON CLUB SEASON OFFICIALLY OPENED LAST NIGHT. COMPETITION RESULTS. The official opening of the 1940-41 season of the Masterton Swimming Club took place in Masterton last night. The ceremony was performed by the patron. Mr H. E. Pither, there being a fair attendance. Although the weather was threatening and the rain held off a westerly wind made conditions unpleasant. There was keen competition and many close finishes were witnessed. The following are the results:— 25 yards, junior boys: K. Masters. 1; G. Master and L. Clark (equal). 2.
