STOCK MARKET
CATTLE FAIR AT MASTERTON. HIGHER VALUES RECORDED. The Associated / Auctioneers report having held the final cattle fair of the year in the Masterton saleyards yesterday. There was a fair entry which attracted numerous local and outside buyers. Bidding was" particularly brisk, and the general trend in values was higher than at previous sales held this season. It is quite obvious that ■cattle requirements in this district and the West Coast have not been filled. No grown bullocks came forward, and most of the young cattle showed the effect of hard wintering and lacked size. Female cattle dominated the yarding, and the strongest selling of the day was for empty cows and heifers. The fat cattle were a very nondescript lot and. did not include many prime pens.
