MASTERTON CLUB. CLUB COMPETITIONS. (Notes by “The Bowler.”) The whole of the games, comprising the first round of the champion singles and champion pairs, were completed on Saturday last, on the dates fixed, and this must be most gratifying to the committee. Chapman (s). W. Bannister and Carstens (s) beat Hayden and W. Hendry (s), L. Wylie and G. Beecroft (s) beat Hearle and Rogers (s). Handicap singles: W. Vowell (handicap 8) beat H. H. Daniell (handicap 9), E. Holtham (8) beat Guthrie-Smith (12). J. Finlayson (2) beat L. Downes (12), Holdsworth (10) beat W. Reid (2). L. Wylie (8) beat T. T. Denbee (10), F. Haycroft (9) beat A. The second round of he champion, singles must be completed not later than Saturday next, and the second round of the champion pairs not later than Wednesday. December 18.
