FEDERAL UNITY
BUDGET COMPROMISE CONDEMNED AT CONFERENCE OF UNION OFFICIALS. MR CURTIN STILL OPPOSED TO NATIONAL CABINET. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) SYDNEY, This Day. A conference of presidents and. secretaries of branches of the Official Labour Party unanimously condemned the Federal Parliamentary Labour Party’s decision to compromise with the Federal Government on the budget decision. This is regarded as a vote of censure on Mr Curtin (Federal Labour Leader). “The action of the caucus has given the Menzies Government another lease of life and will enable it to continue its vicious attacks on the standard of living of the people of this country,’ a resolution carried by delegates stated. A Canberra message reports that Mr Curtin definitely pronounced himself against a National Government and said that if a National Government were formed there would be less real national unity, although Parliamentary unity might appear greater.
