4 AIM OF HOOVER COMMITTEE. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) NEW YORK. December 8. The former President, Mr Hoover has become chairman of the “National Committee on Food for Five Small Democracies." Its aim is to inspire action to prevent famine in Finland Norway. Holland. Belgium, and Central Poland. A group of 25 prominent women, in a statement, said: “America’s own security would be endangered by any action facilitating Hitler's control of the subjugated countries.”
