HORSES REQUIRED

FOR MOUNTED RIFLES. START TO BE MADE WITH INSPECTION. A start is to be made throughout the Wairarapa in the inspection of horses for use in the Mounted Rifles. One hundred and fifty horses are required for members of C Squadron. Wellington East Coast Mounted Rifles The Army Department will pay to the owner of any suitable horse the sum ot £5 for the use of it, the Army then having the right to call on the horse should it be required. The horse will be wanted for the camp during February and March. The type of hack required is a strong, active horse from four to eight years old, of good constitution. 14.2 to 15.3 hands high, and preferably quiet and of a good disposition. Anyone desiring to lend a horse to the Mounted Rifles, is asked to communicate without delay to Major B. H. Pringle, telephone 1428, Masteiton.
