CHURCH SERVICES
Communion services conducted by the Rev. John Davie will be held tomorrow at Knox Church, Tinui, and Langdale. The services at Kaituna and Taueru will be conducted by Mr Ivan Muir, B.A. Mr W. J. Lowe will conduct both the services at the Church of Christ tomorrow.
The morning service at the Methodist Church tomorrow will be conducted by the Rev. H. S. Kings. The subject will be “The Soil of Peace.’’ The evening service will be a musical one. The junior choir of eighty voices, under the direction of Miss Ivie Donald, will render the cantata “Chimes of the Holy Night.” Miss Elsie Donald will be leader, and the choirsters will render solos, duets, trios, and many concerted items. Miss C. Donald, L.R.S.M., will officiate at the organ. The Methodist service at Rangitumau tomorrow will be conducted by the Rev. 11. S. Kings. Mr C. H. Skuse will be the preacher at Kuripuni tomorrow.
The usual Sunday morning service of the Baptist Fellowship will be held at the Y.M.C.A. rooms tomorrow, when Mr Don Petrie will be the speaker.
Archdeacon Rich will be the preacher both in the morning and evening at St. Matthew’s Church tomorrow. At 11 a.in. a special Advent service c\ lessons and carols will be held. The usual services will be conducted at Kuripuni and Bideford, and at 7 p.m. a prize-giving service will take place at Upper- Plain.
The meetings at the Salvation Army barracks on Sunday will, be conducted by Major and Mrs Neeve, the new officers. In the morning the happy family gathering will be held. The subject for the evening meeting will be “The Speed Craze.’ In the Lansdowne Presbyterian Church tomorrow morning and evening communion services will be conducted by the Rev. David McNeur. The Rev. J. M. McKenzie, Dominion Assistant Director of Missions, will preach at Eketahuna at 3 p.m. and at Lansdowne at 7 p.m.
