GREYTOWN

TOWN LANDS TRUST MEETING OF MEMBERS. (“Times-Age” Special.) The Greytown Town Lands Trust held its monthly meeting last night. There were present: Messrs F. Dennes (chairman), W. H. Day, H. G. Carter. H. J. Nightingale. A. H. York, and the secretary, Mr J. Kiernan. Copies of notices sent to the estate of D. P. Loasby to pull down two buildings in Main Street, were received from the Grey town Borough Council. Accounts passed for payment amounted to £56. The trustees decided that in future the meetings would be held on the second Thursday in the month. Minor repairs were authorised to one Trust house.

RETURNED SOLDIERS COMMITTEE MEETING. A meeting of the committee of the Greytown branch of the Returned Soldiers’ Association was held on Wednesday evening. Mr J. W. Herod presided, and also present were Miss Higginson, Messrs R. Dyson, A. Nisbet, H. G. Carter. S. Shedden and G. Robinson (secretary). yt was decided to hold a children s pajty in the Odd Fellows Hall on Saturday, December 14. Two new members were elected and two members were placed on the active service list. After the business had been concluded the members of the committee were entertained at supper by Miss Higginson. Tablet at Rest Room. The brass tablet has now been attached to the outside of the Greytown Centennial Memorial Rest Room. Owing to the urgent war work the makers of the tablet were unable to make delivery before. School Examinations. The local matriculation and school certificate examinations are being hold this week in the Presbyterian Sunday School. Clean Up Week. The Greytown Borough Council ad-

vise that a clean up week will be held commencing on Monday, December 9. The surroundings at the Grey town railway station and yards could be improved. Broom and other weeds are allowed to grow, and the platform of fho station is very uneven and full of holes. The lighting of the station is by means of small kerosene lamp.
