WEDDING

NIX—McPHEE. WELL KNOWN CARTERTON FAMILIES. (“Times-Age” Special.) On Saturday last a quiet but pretty wedding was solemnised at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Carterton, when Isabell Annie, second daughter of Mr and Mrs Archie McPhee, of Clifton Avenue, was married to Kenneth George, only son of Mrs and the late Roy Nix, of Garrison Street. The bride who was escorted by her father, looked charming in a dusky pink frock with matching hat. She carried a beautiful bouquet of sweet peas, Scotch heather and maidenhair fern. The bride was attended by Miss Lorna Smith, who wore a pale green georgette frock and carried a bouquet similar to that of the bride. Both bouquets were made by Mrs F. Peters. Mr George Brown, jitnr., acted as best man. On leaving the church the bride and bridegroom were presented with a silver horseshoe, and a black cat by a niece of the bride and a cousin of the bridegroom.

A reception was afterwards held at the home of the bride's mother, who received her guests wearing a green frock, with brown lace coat, with hat and a shoulder spray to match. The mother of the bridegroom wore a navy blue ensemble relieved by a shoulder spray. The Rev. W. J. Couling proposed the health of the bride and bridegroom. Later Mr and Mrs K. G. Nix left by car for the south.
