LORD AND LADY GALWAY
CIVIC FAREWELL. GATHERING AT WANGANUI. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WANGANUI, December 2. A civic farewell to the GovernorGeneral. Lord Galway, and Lady Galway, who will shortly return to England. was given by citizens of Wanganui tonight in Cook’s Gardens. The speakers were the mayor, Mr. Rogers, M.L.C.; the M.P. for Wanganui, Mr. Cctterill; the chairman of the Wanganui County Council, Mr. A. H. Collins; and the chairman of the Waitotara County Council, Mr. W. Morrison. Mr. Te Hori Takarangi Mete King!, for the Maoris of the district, voiced regret at the departure of their Excellencies and wished them Godspeed and a safe return to England. Gifts were made to Lord and Lady Galway. Lord Galway acknowledged the .speeches and thanked the speakers for their expressions of goodwill to himself and Lady Galway.
