SOUTH FEATHERSTON
CALVES AND LAMBS JUDGING RESULTS. ("Times-Age” Special.) The calf and lamb competitions held in connection with South Featherston School brought forth fourteen entries in calves and thirteen in lambs. The judge, Mr D. C. Stuart, of Masterton, addressed the children after presenting the prizes and commended them on the manner in which their entries had been brought forward. Mr J. Donald’s special prize for the best Ayrshire calf was won by Norma Blanford. Other results were: Calves, care and handling, A. Dick 1. Raymond Snell 2. Rex Leighton 3. Dairy type. Norma Blanford 1, Lola Blanford 2. Raymond Snell 3. Lambs, care and handling, Paddy Renall 1, Rex Leighton 2, Mary Dick 3. Lambs, weight and condition, Doris Blanford 1. Ray Burt 2, Mervyn Gain 3. The children arranged a bring and buy stall and by their efforts the sum of £8 16s will be donated to the Patriotic Fund.
EUCHRE PARTY & DANCE PRESENTATION TO SOLDIER. At the euchre party and dance held in the South Featherston Hall. The prizes were won as follows: Ladies, Mrs E. W. Edwards 1, Mrs A. Gain 2; men, Mr Willis 1, Mr R. Jepsen 2. The Monte Carlo waltzes were won by Mr G. Higginson and partner and Mr T. Matthews and partner. The music was provided by Mr T. Udy. Mr H. Graham carried out the duties of M.C. Mr Wilton made a presentation- to Private Percy Fuge. Personal. Mrs and Miss Lamb are the guests of Mrs Percy Wilton, South Featherston.
