TEACHERS’ ASSOCIATION
* TEACHERS FAREWELLED. On Friday afternoon at the Countrywomen’s Club, the Masterton branch of the Women Teachers’ Association held the best attended meeting of the year, the occasion being a social to bid farewell to some of their ' members. Amongst those present were teachers from Greytown and Carterton, as well as from local town, and country schools. Miss Wiggins, president of the •branch, made a presentation on behalf of the members to Mrs Fouhy (vicepresident), who is retiring after many years' service, the last ten years of which have been spent at the Te Ore Ore School. Appreciation of Mrs Fouhy’s work in both executive and academic branches of teaching and her readiness to advise and assist her associate teachers was expressed by several speakers, who voiced the hope that her valued experience would not be lost to the cause of education. The best wishes of those present for happiness and prosperity in the future were extended to Mrs Fouhy. Opportunity was taken to say goodbye to Miss Wiggins, who will leave shortly to take up a position at Akaroa and to Miss Hodges on her appointment as Matron of the Otaki Health Camp, with good wishes for their success in their new spheres of work.
