REGENT THEATRE

“EDISON THE MAN.” Marked by another sterling performance on the part of Spencer Tracy, "Edison, the Man,” will be shown tonight at the Regent Theatre. As Thomas Edison, Tracy has a role that fits him like a glove. The story itself is so filled with real drama that it is almost unbelievable that all of it actually could have happened in the life of one man. Truth, it is proved again, is really much stranger than fiction. Although Americans remember the beloved Edison as he was in later years, this story is of the inventor as a young man—a man who is a youthful genius because he was only thirty when he invented the phonograph and thirty-two when he achieved the electric light. Supporting Tracy is a cast ot fine performers, including Rita Johnson, Lynne Overman, Charles Coburn, Gene Lockhart, Henry Travers and Felix Bressart. The featurettes have been specially chosen and include the latest Air Mail News, giving vivid shots of convoy attacks, the London damage from air raids and' a brilliant Passing Parade number, “A Way in the Wilderness,” which has .been specially chosen on account of its applicability to the main feature. Plans are at Nimmo’s and the theatre.
