‘WORKING FOR PEACE’
STATEMENTS IN BULGARIAN ASSEMBLY • DOUMANOV REPUDIATED. GOVERNMENT & PARLIAMENT NOT COMMITTED. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) (Received This Day, 12.5 p.m.) SOFIA, November 27. Bulgaria’s claims on her neighbours were raised in the National Assembly, but M. Kiosseivanov said he regretted M. Doumanov’s statement of November 24. He added: “We are all working for peace in the Balkans. The Bulgarians want only to realise their national claims peacefullly. Our claims are extremely moderate. Every Bulgarian’s heart beats for a Western Thrace outlet to the Aegean, which is essential for our development and prosperity.” M. Stanciov declared that Yugoslavia should not pay too much attention to M. Doumanov, who had in no way committed the Government and Parliament. "Bulgaria’s friendliness and loyalty to Yugoslavia are well known.” he declared. "I am far more concerned about Turkey’s .attitude and cannot understand Turkey's irritation.”
In a statement in Parliament M. Doumanov claimed that Bulgaria wanted frontier revisions at the expense of Yugoslavia and Greece.
