CASE AS WARNING

NON-PAYMENT Uh REGISTRATION LEVY. OBLIGATION ON EMPLOYERS. In the Masterton Magistrate’s Court today, the Registrar of the Social Security Department. Mr J. L, Woods, proceeded against Wallis's Health Bakery Ltd., for employing for more than 7 days, William Arthur, who was in arrears for more than a month with payment of the registration levy. “The Department is not pressing for a heavy penalty as it was an oversight on the company's part. The case can, however, be taken as a warning to others," stated the Registrar. The defendant company, which admitted the offence, was fined £1 and 10s costs.
