ALFREDTON PICTURES

♦ "NAUGHTY MARIETTA.” At Alfredton tomorrow night “Naughty Marietta" will be presented Princess Marie (Jeanette MacDonald) is to be married against her will, so she arranges with her maid. Marietta, to take her place in the boat loaded with casquette girls, who are' being sent to Louisiana by the King, to become the wives of colonists. As the boat, nears its destination it is seized by pirates and the girls are taken ashore. They are rescued by a band of Yankee Scouts, under the leadership of Captain Warrington (Nelson Eddy). Marie finds herself attracted to the captain and as she doesn't want io marry any of the colonists, she tells the Governor (Frank Morgan) that she is a bad girl. Warrington finds her again, singing in a marionette show and is on the point of confessing his love for her, when the news arrives that Marietta is the Princess Marie.
