FEATHERSTON

RED CROSS PRESENTATION OF CERTIFICATES. ("Times-Age” Special.) Miss Brown, tutor Sister. Masterton Hospital, gave an interesting lecture on infectious diseases at the Home Nursing Class, last evening. Mrs. Sharp president, expressed thanks to her for an instructive address. Mrs. Sharp then introduced. Mr. N. Lee. president of the Wairarapa Centre of the Red Cross Society. Mr, Lee briefly sketched the work of the Red Cross Society and mentioned the pleasure it gave him to visit the Featherston sub-centre. He congratulated the class in gaining its certificates, and hoped the members would continue their studies in this splendid work. After presenting the certificates Mr. Lee was asked on behalf of the members of the class to present the two instructors, Dr. G. S. Sharp and Mr. J. E. Willett, with tokens of appreciation of the work done during the past year. Dr. Sharp in thanking the class for a handsome ink stand, said he had enjoyed the classes, and hoped the same enthusiasm would be shown for the work next year. Mr. Willet thanked the class for making a present of a set of sleeve links and studs and endorsed Dr. Sharp’s remarks. Supper concluded the evening. Personal. Miss B. Currie has returned from a holiday spent in Christchurch. Mr. and Mrs. D. F. C. Saxton, New Plymouth, have returned home after visiting Mrs. H. R. Bloxam.
