An Air Ministry report states: “Shortly after dark the enemy dropped several bombs in the west of England. Little damage was caused and the casualties were few, but included some killed. Otherwise there was no enemy activity over Britain last night.” It is officially stated that the R.A.F. last night bombed the dockyards of two north-west German towns. ENEMY LOSSES FOUR PLANES SHOT DOWN IN BRITAIN. R.A.F. SUFFERS NO LOSS. (British Official Wireless.) (Received This Day, 11.5 a.m.) RUGBY, November 26. Most of the small number of enemy aircraft which crossed the south and south-east coasts of Britain today were promptly shot down. As against two German bombers and two fighterbombers destroyed, the R.A.F. suffered no loss. An official communique adds that a bomb was dropped in a coastal town in Sussex, doing some damage to buildings and causing a few slight casualties. At a coastal town in Kent .an enemy raider delivered a short burst of ma-chine-gun fire, which caused no casualties and did very little damage.
