RIVERSIDE GOLF CLUB

ANNUAL MEETING HELD LAST NIGHT. MOST SUCCESSFUL SEASON. The annual meeting of the Riverside Golf Club was held last night at the club rooms, Colombo Road, there being a good attendance of members present. The president, Mr. A. J. Hume, occupied the chair. In moving the adoption of the report and balance sheet, Mr. Hume exhorted members to continue the interest shown in the club in view of the possible difficulties ahead owing to war conditions. Before vacating the chair he could not help, he said, remarking upon the happy relations which had existed among members. He considered that, the club had experienced a most successful season in the conditions prevailing. The following executive was elected: —Patron, Mr. D. J. C. Cameron; president. Mr. W. J. Palamontain; vicepresident, Mr. A. Carstens, captain, Mr. R. Wearne; vice-captain, Mr. J. Wakelin; committee, Messrs. L. Cross, J. Wakelin, R. Hatch. 11. Keisenberg, V. Jones, G. Murdock; hon secretary and treasurer, Mr. J. Connell (pro tern); hon. auditor, Mr. H. Keisenberg. A vote of thanks to the ladies for their untiring efforts in always supplying extra refreshments for special occasions was carried with acclamation. Appreciation was also extended to members of the past' committee for their willing service during the season: also to the Press for its assistance and courtesies at all times. Club members who have joined or may join the New Zealand forces will have their membership preserved. After the close of official business, a happy hour- was spent by those present in song and story, with refreshments, supper being supplied by the ladies.
