SHOOTING AFFRAY

ATTEMPTED MURDER CHARGE. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) DUNEDIN, November 26. Charged with attempting to murder Harry Frederick McCauley in Oamaru on October 13. William Meehan, aged 42, was remanded to appear in Oamaru on December 10. The charge arose out of a shooting affray when a meeting convened by Jehovah’s Witnesses was being conducted. It is reported that one member of the sect was shot and another wounded by a bayonet.
