LORD ROTHERMERE
DEATH AT BERMUDA. PROPRIETOR OF LONDON “DAILY MAIL.” (By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright) (Received This Day, 11.25 a.m.) LONDON, November 26. The death has occurred of Lord Rothermere, at Bermuda. A younger brother of the late Loid Northcliffe, Lord Rothermere, was born at Hampstead in 1862. He entered his brother’s publishing business in 1889 and had a good deal to do with its development into The Amalgamated Press. The brothers were also associated in buying the London “Evening News” and founding the “Daily Mail” and “Daily Mirror.” On his brother's death in 1922, Lord Rothermere became chief proprietor of the “Daily Mail.” His two elder sons were killed in the Great War. His third son. Esmond, was M.P. for Thanct, 1919-29.
