DISTRICT HIGH SCHOOL CALF CLUB ACTIVITIES. (“Times-Age” Special.) Calf Club activities which have been a feature of the primary schools in the district for a number of years, were advanced a stage during the week when the annual judging was held al the Primary Department. The judge. Mr F. Goggin. of Rongokokako. visited the school accompanied by Mr F. C. Brockett, Agricultural Supervisor. of Masterton. and awarded points in the competition. Although the entries this season are not large the type of animal and the preparation entailed reached a very satisfactory standard and reflects great credit on the boys participating in the club’s activities. WEDDING LIARDET—HERBERT. A quiet wedding was solemnised in St. Cuthbert's Church, Eketahuna, on Saturday, the contracting parties being Kathrine. only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. U. R. Herbert, and Noel, only son of Mr. and Mrs. H. Liardet, Miramar, Wellington. The officiating clergyman was the Rev. L. Ives. Musical Recital. The pupils of Mrs Enid Jefferies entertained their parents at the annual recital in St. Cuthbert’s schoolroom and an enjoyable time was spent by the large audience. The pupils gave a meritorious performance. The announcers were Muriel Gray and Richard Rogers. The pupils demonstrated that they had received careful training. During the supper interval, Mr A. B. Fordyce, on behalf of the parents, thanked Mrs Jefferies ’for providing such an enjoyable concert, and congratulated her. Mrs Jefferies suitably replied. . A. presentation was made to Shirley Ives for having put in the most consistent practice during the year. Wellington, spent the weekend with his parents. Mr. and Mrs. W. Olsen. Newman Road. Mr. S. Pettengill and family. Waipukurau were the guests of Mr. and Mrs. S. Daniel for the weekend.
