ROAD ACCIDENTS
INCREASE IN BRITAIN. WITH FEWER VEHICLES ON ROADS. (British Official Wireless.) (Received This Day, 11.50 a.m.) RUGBY. November 25. The number of road accidents in Britain has risen, although there are fewer cars on the roads, says the Minister of Transport. The total number of persons killed during October was 1,012. compared with 920 in the same month last year. During the hours of darkness, the figures were 501 against 566 in October, 1939, but during the other hours Ithe figures were 511 against 354, including 107 pedestrians under 15 years against 64.
