SHORTENING A RAINCOAT
A METHOD WORTH TRYING. Cut the coat to the desired length, leaving half an inch to turn up. Then brush bicycle solution along the bottom an inch wide. Leave to dry for two or three minutes, then turn up the half inch and press down firmly. Smear over with fresh chalk on top of hem. Do not touch with anything hot.
