BOWLING CLUB DRAW FOR COMPETITIONS. (■'Times-Age” Special.) The match committee of the Carterton Bowling Club has made the following draw for the club competitions: — Champion singles: Barber v. Progressive rink games will be played on those Saturdays when there are no centre games, players will be graded, leads, scorers, measurers and skips will be chosen each Saturday. Social at Dalefield. There is sure to be a large attendance of Dalefield residents and- visitors from other parts of the Wairarapa at the Dalefield Hall tonight when Private Ray Hodder will be the guest of honour. Good music and supper will be provided, and presentations will be made to Private Hodder. Personal Items. Messrs Ross Hawker and Ray Orcish, who motored to Stratford on Friday, returned to Carterton today. A pleasant function took place at the premises of Messrs Hughan's Ltd., when occasion was taken to make, a presentation to two members .of the. staff on the eve of their marriage. Mr Harry Hughan. manager of the firm, stated that Mr Ray Jackson and Miss i L. Mackie had been faithful employees of (he firm lor a considerable time, | lhe former in the mechanical depart- | ment of the works and Miss .Macuie as clerk. On behalf of the stall' he asked them to accept an" afternoon tea service and from the firm a cnim.ng! clock. Mr Hughan said that he hoped they would enjoy a happy and successful married life. The health of Miss Mackie and Mr Jackson was toasted with musical honours'. Messrs Burch (accountant) and Rex Porter also pa.d tribute to the ability of .Miss Mackie and Mr Jackson. Mr JaCKSim suitably replied. Mr Jackson and Miss Mackie were married on Saturday. Girls' Club Revue. The 1940 revue which proved such a success last week will be repeated again tomorrow evening at the Ring s Theatre. The proceeds of the entertainment will be devoted to patriotic purposes. Many seats have already been booked and indications point to another large attendance.
