OTHER PEOPLE’S IDEAS
THE CRICKET SELECTOR (To the Editor.) Sir.—Having had the pleasure of playing against the Senior Cricket Selector for a number of years; I consider the Wairarapa Association very fortunate in securing his services and trust that he will not give up playing or resign his position because of the criticism of “Old Boy." if it is W. Peterson’s nomination that is objected to. I would have no hesitation in endorsing Mr Barr's opinion of that particular player.—l am, etc.. J. B. BURT. Featherston, November 21. HOSPITAL NURSES (To the Editor.) Sir, —Your last night’s issue made clear the deliberations of the Hospital Board, particularly with regard to the nurses' salaries., which are to be raised 5 per cent with no deductions. This will be an incentive to all nurses to work and study harder, so that when they open their pay envelopes on. Christmas morning, they will feel like one of Charles Dickens’s characters after his dream. They can shout “Happy Christmas,” Merry Christmas to everyone.—Yours etc., SCROOGE. Buchanan Home, November 21.
