EIGHT PAIRS DAILY. Eight pairs of socks a day is the knitting record established by Mrs P. N. Self, who is the “title holder” of sock making championships at the Lord Mayor’s Fund headquarters, Sydney. Mrs Self knits by machine each Friday. In the past three months she has made 98 pairs of socks. The average time to make a sock is 20 minutes. The output at the Lord Mayor’s Fund is about 110 pairs a week.
