SOUTH FEATHERSTON
SCHOOL ASSOCIATION MONTHLY MEETING. (“Times-Age” Special.) At the South Featherston Home and School Association’s monthly meeting the prize-winners in the competition for the most useful article were Mrs D. Burt (first), Mrs Hawke (second), and Mrs Thompson (third). In the Christmas novelty class competition Mrs Hawke was first, Mrs Sorenson second, and Mrs George third. Card Party. An enjoyable 500 card party was recently held at the home of Mrs D. W. Burt, South Featherston, in aid of the Heart-to-Heart Appeal. The prize was won by Mrs C. Rea. Afternoon tea was served after which Mrs Wakely thanked Mrs Burt on behalf of the ladies present for having provided such a successful gathering. Euchre Party and Dance. The fortnightly euchre party and dance was held in the South Featherston Hall. The prize-winners were:— Ladies: Mrs Grimstone, 1; Mrs Whitehead, 2. Men: Mr Ashworth, 1; Mr J. Blain, 2. The Monte Carlo waltzes were won by Miss P. Burt and Miss B. Fuge, and Mr and Mrs R. Jepsen. The music was supplied by Mr T. Udy. Mrs Foss played an extra. Mr H. Graham carried out the duties of M.C. A fancy apron donated by Mrs D. Burt was won by Miss J. Graham. Personal, Items. Miss Kathleen Gain, Wellington, spent the weekend with relatives in Featherston. Mr Ken Burt, South Featherston, left on Monday on a trip to Hamner Springs. Mrs M. Woodfield, of Hastings, is staying with her brother, Mr A. Ashworth, Martinborough Road. Mr Lewis, Otaki, is spending a holiday with his daughter, Mrs D. W. Burt, South Featherston.
