CARTERTON
WEST TARATAHI SCHOOL CALF CLUB COMPETITIONS. (“Times-Age” Special.) There was an attendance ol thirty adults besides many children at the West Taratahi School, when the judging of calves and lambs under the care of the children of the district took place. The judge, Mr Hector McKenzie, remarked upon the excellent number of entries, sixteen calves and five lambs. The quality of the animals judged were good. The judge made his awards as follows: — Best calf, dairy type: John Anderson 1, Lewis Allen 2, Ray Daysh 3, lan Daysh 4. Care and handling: Peggy Daysh 1. Lewis Allen 2, Nancy Daysh 3, lan Daysh 4. Lambs, Southdown: lan Daysh 1, Ray Daysh 2, John Anderson 3. White-face lambs: Rex Blake 1, Shirley Allen 2. Mr F. C. Brockett, of Masterton, was present at the demonstration.
