REGULATION OF BUILDING
DRAFT PROPOSALS IN HAND. LOCAL BODIES TO SUBMIT DETAILS. It is understood that regulations are being framed to regulate building of all kinds throughout New Zealand. The proposed regulations provide for all applications for the erection of buildings at an estimated cost exceeding £2090 or for the erection of structures which will require one half-ton or more of reinforcement steel, to be submitted by local bodies receiving applications to the Building Controller. No permit is to be issued by a local body unless the permission of the Building Controller is granted. Further, it is proposed that a return is to be furnished on the first of each month by every local body in New Zealand, setting out the details of all building permits granted in the preceding month.
