SALE AT FEILDING VERY LITTLE CHANGE IN VALUES BEEF PRICES EASIER. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) FEILDING. November 15. Another small yarding of stock came forward at Feilding today, values being very little altered from last week’s. Some lines of station cattle made good values, while beef was easier. Fat sheep: Mutton was in light supply, and in the case of hoggets the demand was firm. Prime wethers made 265. 4d. to 265. 7d.: light prime. 235. Id. to 245. 7d.; unfinished. 21s. 4d. to 225. 10d.; prime ewes. 18s. Id. to 19s. 4d.. lighter 16s. lOd to 17s. 9d., plain 14s. 9d. to 15s. 10d.; prime hoggets, 28s. 4d., light 225. 7d. to 235. 4d„ unfinished 20s. lOd. to 225. Id.
Store sheep: Firm values prevailed for a small range. Two-tooth wethers sold at 21s. 3d. to 235; two-tooth ewes, best 28s. to 295., smaller 265. 10d.; ewes and lambs, 15s. to 19s. Store cattle: The market was erratic, with best sorts only selling at about reserve prices. Two-year A.A. steers, good, made £5 15s. to £6 45., smaller £4 14s. to £5 125.; three-year A.A. steers, £7 165.: fat and forward bullocks. £9 25.; empty heifers, £5 7s. 6d. to £5 155.; two-year A.A. heifers, £4 15s. to £6: two-year Red Poll steers, £6; yearling Jersey heifers. £5; works cows, heavy £4 to £4 10s.. others £3 ss. to £3 15s. Fat cattle: An easier tone was evident in this section, particularly for ex-dairy beef. Prime cows sold at £8 2s. 6d. to £8 17s. 6d.; light £4 12s. 6d. to £6 12s. 6d.; best heifers, £6 12s. 6d. to £7 2s. 6d. Dairy cattle: A light entry sold at late rates. Springing heifers made £5 7s. 6d. to £7; springing cows, £8 10s.; heifers in milk, £8 2s. 6d.; cows in milk, £7 10s.
CARTERTON SALE I I GOOD PRICES FOR FAT SHEEP. PIGS BRING LATE RATES. Messrs Wright, Stephenson and Co., Ltd., report: We held our weekly sale at Carterton yesterday when a big entry of cattle and pigs and a few pens of sheep was offered to a good attendance. There was a particularly strong demand for fat and forward condition cows. Yearling dairy heifers also met with a good sale. Only a few springers of inferior quality were offered. Sheep sold well, especially fats. Pigs were practically also cleared at late rates. The following are realisations:— Sheep: Fat shorn 4-th wethers, to 27s 9d; fat and fwd shorn 2-th wethers, to 23s 9d; fat shorn S.D. ewes, to 21s; fat shorn ewes, 16s to 16s 3d; fat woolly hoggets, to 24s 9d; prime fat woolly wethers, to 36s 6d; fat and fwd b.f. hoggets, to 23s 3d; woolly ewes with b.f. lambs at foot, 15s 6d all counted; fwd woolly ewes, to 15s Id. Cattle: Jersey cows on drop, to £8 8s: heifers on drop, to £6; cows in milk, £4 to £5 10s; fat cows. £6, £7 15s, £8 15s to £9 10s; forward cows. £4 to £5 16s;-store cows. £2 to £3 17s 6d; cows and calves, £6, £6 2s 6d to £9; 2-yr heifers r.w.b., £5 10s to £5 15s; yearling Jersey heifers, £4 14s, £4 17s 6d to £5 7s 6d; vealers, to £3 15s; bulls, £3 17s 6d to £7 10s.
Pigs: Wenners (good), 24s to 265; weaners (medium). 18s to 235; weaners (small), 13s to 17s; slips, 27s to 325; store pigs, 33s to 395; light porkers, £2 to £2 ss; porkers, £2 Bs. £2 16s to £2 17s 6d; baconers, £3 10s to £4 4s; young sow with litter, to £8; p.b. Berkshire sows, to p.b. Berksire boars, to sgns.
