PROVISION OF HORSES. POSITION IN WAIRARAPA. “The position in the Wairarapa concerning the provision of mounts for mounted infantry is that we have the horses, but have not yet been asked to supply them by the Government,” stated Mr R..H. Williams, secretary of the Wairarapa Provincial Executive of the Farmers’ Union this morning. Mr Williams pointed out that an offer to supply horses for military purposes had been made some time ago. but nothing further had been heard from the Government. "However, we are only awaiting a request by the Government when we will provide as many mounts as possible,” he added.
