METHODIST CHURCH

LADIES’ GUILD. MONTHLY MEETING. The monthly meeting of the Masterton Ladies’ Guild was presided over by Mrs G. G. Hancox. The meeting was opened by the singing of the National Anthem after which Mrs Kings led in prayer. Mrs Hancox gave a review of the activities of the Guild during the past year. Arrangements were completed for the Pyramid Social lo be held on November 13; an added attraction will be movie pictures shown by Mr W. H. Saunders. The stalls arranged are in charge of the following:—Cakes, Mesdames Hancox, Kings, Madsen and Miss Jackson; sweets. Mrs Lyttle and Bible Class girls; produce, Messrs White and Sanson; supper, Mrs Prior and the social committee. Mesdames Keltic and Sleeman rendered elocutionary items, and several other ladies contributed to the programme. Miss P. Blamires rendered 'cello solos and Mrs Speight and Miss Jackson songs, and Mrs Hancox provided a unique competition. Afternoon tea was served by Mesdames Handyside and Sleeman. Votes of thanks to the hostesses and to those who had contributed, to the programme were carried by acclamation.
